Pandemic Visual Diary
Pandemic visual diary that keeps track of the COVID-19 pandemic from multiple news media and through different visual metaphors during our current period of quarantine and social constraint. My work shows the different reactions of different countries to the face of the pandemic.
In addition to the quantitative pandemic data such as the number of casualties, spread etc. the work explores visual strategies for qualitative angles of social and emotional affect.
Empowered by my status as an international student, the diary incorporates visuals from an international perspective, documenting the pandemic from different angles that reflect on the concerns and miletones in the six months after the COVID-19 started.
The project workflow is as such : Mass media extracts information from the front line and is read by people in the news - my work then summarizes from these news readings and adds my own design ideas, making them into a creative output.
